Yep.

Unnamed Mini-Transport
Length: 40m
Weight: 1.5 tons
Crew: 1
Maximum Payload: 8 tons (Special design cargo pod-60x60x60 std.)
A light, all-purpose transport, the stellar equivalent of a semitrailer or moving van. It also serves as a towship in many shipyards. Features 1 30* rotating dual plasma turret, low-radar-profile plating.
I get bored. when is FF coming out?:D
-
Mmmmmmm. Strange.
-
An imaginary fiver to the person who guesses what object this was inspired by.

Must......not......make.....lude.....comment......
Errrr......Lightsabre? A Pistol?
-
Hmmm... if you flip it over, it could be the cyclic control off a helicopter... or the control stick off a fighter....
the black part anyway...
-
Not close. The scaling's a bit off, but it's a whole object, and it looks more or less exactly like this (take away the gun turret, chair, and a few of the hollow cylinders, it's the same).
Oh, and I think the completion of this model proves conclusively that 3DS MAX is godly. Woulda taken me 2 days, maybe, do this in Ray Dream or LW.
-
a desk light?
-
I think I know what it is but I can't remember what it's called or what it does. I think I might even own one.

Yeah.. I have that feeling too...
This is gonna piss me off...
-
Use more polygons.... makes for a better model. And use more lighting.
-
That's got 4 omni lights with the lighting cranked up high in positions where they light up practically everything. It's a black, black ship.
And I dunno about polygons... I left the poly count at the point where the nonprims were still editable, instead of just being an indecipherable mass. On this res, that's pretty good.
-
My guess would be...a bicycle pedal, well, one at least
But it also looks like bike handels
but...meh, looks nice man!

3 thumbs up :D

So use better textures then. And specular + bump maps.
As for the polycount, what is it? The control bubble doesn't have smooth edges, which was my main complaint.
-
Ah- the bubble. THAT's low-poly- most of the rest isn't made of primitives, so it's pretty steep. I'll sort out the poly count in a minute, MAX is indisposed at the moment...
Better texture maps: Perhaps...
Bump maps: Got 'em.
Specular maps: Defeat the purpose. Except in the 2 cases I used them.:p

Huh. I was gonna say swively flashlight but close enough.

Well, it has... SOMETHING to do with light, I suppose...:D
-
A car lamp thingy?
-
Tell ya what. I'll tell you when you've got it.
-
It looks like you've taken a fishing rod and played with the proportions.
-
OK, this is getting dull fast. So here's another. Inspired by nothing, except perhaps the Herc II:
"Bumblebee" Fuel Harvester
Length: 28m
Weight: 3 tons
Crew: 1
A small vessel, fitted to harvest the "free" hydrogen found in space and store it for conversion to fuel. Since capital ship engines are a proficient source of low-grade hydrogen, often several of these fighter-sized ships tailing a cruiser during peacetime.

2 days? in lw this just proves your **** at using lightwave

I know, I feel exactly the same way (except I don't know what it is). It just looks so familiar to me... :sigh:
-
the fuel harvester could be a submarine too
-
The first looks like a kitchen sink hose. the second looks like... something I wouldn't want to fly.
-
and for such a big thing there's no way it's only 3 tons :p
-
That seconds on should have "McCain's" written across the side.

Cockpit reminds me of the 'zimmer's from 2001.
-
Venom: well, most of it is the empty fuel tanks. And, since they're empty and hollow, they'd only contribute a few hundred pounds each.:p
-
It...looks like a can opener or...some kind of tool...agh...

anyway, your thing is lighter than a truck :p
-
For something a little bigger than a standard car, that's normal. I attribute the transport to new materials. Fine, make the harvester 4.5 tons, and the cargo limit on the transport 60. I was just eyeballing it, anyway.
-
And forget trying to compare it to things. Forget it! Bad idea! Just tell me how nice they look, and move on.
