Hey all,
I haven't been following the FS2Open development for a while, so I was excited to find a mac version available! However, there's a quick question regarding the install.
Every guide says that before running the installer, you should have a deployed version of FS2 and install FS2SCP on top. But on a mac there's no way to run a windows installer natively, i.e. without CrossOver, Parallels, etc. Does that mean that I should install the original FS2 in a virtualized environment and then copy the folder to use with the SCP OSX install?
Sorry for the lame question, but I couldn't find it in the walkthroughs anywhere.

Basically the order in which you do things doesn't matter too much. But you'll need an intact copy of FreeSpace 2. You can either install it on your Mac with some Wine-ish emulator, or install FS2 on a Windows environment and then just copy the entire game directory to your Mac.

Thanks for the quick reply!

All you _really_ need are the .VP files from the install, and the movies wouldn't hurt either. If you want to put those somewhere for future use, like a backup cd or folder somewhere, then you'll have them around whenever you need them again, or to lend to another Mac user who has already bought the game, from say, Good Old Games.
