Title: In the Light of Dawn (render)
Post by: KillMeNow on May 04, 2002, 11:56:38 pm
here is my latest render - ahppy with this one except the moons i want them to be behind the atmosphere effects but i dont know how to do that yet so i just had to use transparcy alittle and try hard to blend them in

also wanted to add some grass around the base of the dead trees but but but  that plug i was taking forever so i will acaully model some grass that should be faster to render and i get it exactly as i want anyway

enjoy

Either that's some reasonably durable surfacing, or your mechs leave no tracks. ;)

yes i know i tried but i gave up on teh tracks due to some rescaling off the models in layout that well made booleans to make tracks damned near impossible i will resize everything eveually and then do with tracks but it will have to wait abit

It might be easier to do the tracks by using a bumpmap, rather than an actual modelled surface. I'm not sure how realistic it would look, though.

Bob is right, you should move the legs. Right now it looks like the mechs are about to fall over in the next second or so. Damn, I'd like to see an animation of that, I can already imagine... :p

i just been messing with the ik setup for making them walk and its not easy i can get the legs to move around when i pull the feel etc but damn it is not easy  getting them to go exactly where you want and a walk cycle is along way off yet but i am trying =) like you i see the potential for animation here mechs walk up fire there targetting laser the airspeeders fly over and drop there boms the bombs home in on what the laser are illuminating bang the enemy tanks explode another tank appears over the hill fires - a mech is blown away the others return fire with there mini guns and amourpeicing rouns and the tank is destroyed =) ahhhhhhh this is my goal anyway

Now I wanna see that animation. It looks really good. Is it supposed to be on a moon (of saturn) or something? And did you make those airspeeder models too?
really great.
