Title: help with fred2 open!

hi, im very new to fred, and i was wondering how to open fred2 open with the inferno mod, when i try to open it with the INF_main.vp file in the directory, it gives me an error saying: weapons.tbl(line512:
error: required token = [#End] or [$Name:], found [@ laser Glow: 2_laserglow03]
in weapon: GTVA rapid Laser

could someone please help? i would like to make a map with lots of cap ships without spending several hours using SEXPs to enable beam cannons. thanks! :)

If your using 3.6.12 you should just set the mod to inferno in the launcher then run FRED and it should use the same mod.  The other method is to create a shortcut to FRED with the -mod <directory> command line.

You should never place mod files in the main directory. FRED will read the launcher's mod settings.

oops i feel like an idiot! thanks much im previously a mac user so i was rather confused switching to windows! ;)
