Hello, I have been trying to get a simple sentry turret model converted with no success. I have followed various tutorials, including the stikied thread in the Modding Section, but no matter what I do, PCS will not load it, saying that certain parts have no instance_geometry, even though I make sure they do. I have done, and redone the tutorial, step-by-step countless times over, but still come up with the same result. So, I ask if anyone with conversion experiance could aid me?
I admit the Sentinel (http://www.freewebs.com/varsaigen/Sentinel_turret.jpg) is a simple design. It is a modified Watchdog design, given better hull and a single, much longer barrel on both turrets. It's range has been dramatically increased, and will use a high-power kinetic weapon such as the morning star. It can be used to guard depots or vital stations and trade routes. Clusters of these turrets can bounce a fighter around for days as the kinetic shots ram into the hull and shield.
So, as I have had no luck in my attempts at converting this model to pof, I ask that someone come to my aid. I would greatly appreciate the help. And, despite the simple design, I think the turret could be of use in the community. It's not often we get a mass-produced turret like the Watchdog or Cerberus. :)
The file is here (http://www.2shared.com/file/7NVsXudm/sniper_turret.html)

When you saved your file in your 3d app did you save to OpenCollada or regular Collada? It has to be in OpenCollada. I know that caused me similar problems.

I'm not sure what difference OpenCollada makes. From what I saw, it just meant more exporting options. Ot is OpenCollada like a variation of 3dsmax, and thus capable of making a ship?

OpenCollada is a file format.
3D Studio Max can export both "AutodeskCollada" and "OpenCollada" (both DAE). PCS2 only reads OpenCollada (which is the same format that Blender can export to)

Ah. Thank you for the suggesstion and explanation. I shall see if that works. :)
