Title: Spontaneously transported to another site when making a reply.
Post by: StarSlayer on January 28, 2011, 09:24:30 am
I've noticed that I am occasionally being redirected to some "Make yourself into a cartoon" site when writing a Reply.  I've taken a look see at the reply screen and I do not believe I am accidentally hitting any sort of pop up or ad that would prompt this.  The behavior appears pretty sporadic and spontaneous but I figured I point it out.

I get this too. Sometimes also on other websites, which makes me think it's either a pretty common ad or malware. It's really annoying.

I haven't seen this at all.

If I do, I'll be hitting "back", saving the complete HTML source, and combing through it to figure out where the redirect is coming from...

I haven't seen this either, but it sounds malwareish to me.

I'm using Firefox with NoScript, and I've been getting warnings here lately about some "potential cross-script scripting (XSS) attempt" originating from Google Ads. This might have something to do with it?
