I was wondering if anyone can help me. I keep getting error messages for BP 1 and 2.
The messages says I'm missing "2_MainScreen_M" and when i go into the game all I get is a black screen.
Does anyone know how I can fix the problem?

Please follow instructions as detailed in the sixth post of the topic linked above to post your fs2_open.log.

Run a debug build if you can until you get to the black screen, then quit the game. In your FS2 directory, in the data folder, there should be a file called fs2_open.log. Post that file here and we should be able to fix your problem very quickly.

Quick guess: you're using a resolution lower than 1024x768.

I fixed the first problem, but the game just crashes everytime I try to play.
Judging by what I saw before the game crashes on me, I'm missing textures. I have had problems using mediavps in the past because of the age of my computer, don't know if that's a contributing factor.

I can't see anything wrong with the debug log you provided, except that you're using 16-bit color depth. Please open your launcher and select 32-bit color depth under video tab. You may also want to remove MV_Advanced.vp to increase your performance.
Did your game crash while you were running debug build? If not, please use debug build until your game crashes and then provide fs2_open.log from that.

Yeah I was running debug but like you said doesn't seem to show a problem.

I tried looking at models in-game, to see if i had a problem with the mediavps or Blueplanet and got this. This is with mediavp as my mod.
I've just downloaded everything today (including Freespace) and can't seem to get anything stable enough to play with.

You may be below minimum spec. :( You may still be able to play without the MediaVPs, though?
We've had a few people with Intel Integrated cards chug through Blue Planet at single-digit FPS, but...I'm not wildly optimistic.

:( Can BP work correctly without MediaVPs? I would just have to change the mod file so it doesn't look for them correct?
Don't suppose your working on Blue Planet for the Xbox 360 by any chance ;7

Toota, I don't think you can play BP without the MVPs at all.

Oh, I just meant play FreeSpace period. No, running BP without the MVPs is just going to spew errors.
Try pulling all the advanced VPs (they should have -adv in the filename or somesuch) out of BP and the MVPs, put them somewhere out of your FS2 folder. Any better?

I played the first mission of FS2 campaign (using meidavps) and, although it dips to 9fps when getting up close, runs okay until Capital Ships show up. Then it just crashed.
I had removed all the advanced files. I remember the game running fine a few builds ago. Guess its just to much now for my computer to handle.

Sorry, mate, wish there was more we could do. Maybe try adding the -no_glsl command line flag to your command line? I don't think it'll do anything but...you never know.

I seem to have had some success. I updated my graphic driver with a different model, which I had been reluctant to do because the one I had was a customised Intel driver made for my latop, and changing to a generic driver might cause problems.
Did it anyways and the game seems stable. Tried it out on a quick mission I made and framerate seems better than ever, even using mediavps.
