Title: [Solved] Cannot create new pilot
Post by: CommanderDJ on February 03, 2011, 09:53:01 am
Okay,
So I'm running Antipodes 8. For the nth time I'm testing a mission I'm FREDding for a little mod. Debug FRED gives me no errors with the mission. I go to the techroom, click the "mission simulator" button... and the game freezes. A few seconds later, it CTDs. Puzzled, I run the game again, and the same thing happens as soon as I click "accept" at the pilot selection screen. Only then do I think to run a debug build. I run a debug build, create a new pilot, go to the techroom, and it crashes in the same spot as the first time. This log is uploaded as fs2_open_with_mod.log. I try this three times, no change. I remove the mission I was supposed to test from my missions folder, no change. I change my mod to only the 3.6.12 mediavps, no change. This log is uploaded as the regular fs2_open.log. I seek help from the awesomeness of the HLP community. :(

EDIT: See fourth post for current problem.

I suspect your pilot has corrupted. You said you created a new one and that didn't fix the issue? Was it a fresh create or a clone?

It was a fresh create. I created it and went straight to the techroom and it crashed when entering the mission simulator.

Key factor being "Antipodes 8"

Latest nightly has all the same options, just not new pilot file code. And the latest nightly is actually more up to date than current Antipodes 8 released build, since no feature in Antipodes 8 has seen any activity to fix it lately, I haven't been arsed to make any new one's (and won't unless/until the situation changes, sorry).

Using the latest nightly, I get this when trying to create a pilot:

Solved on IRC. The 'single' and 'multi' folders disappeared somehow.
