Title: [Solved?] Blue Planet 2 Problem

Blue Planet 2: AOA opens up an error message:

Too many icons in icons.tbl; only the first 105 will be used

You don't have Blue Planet 1. Or at least it is NOT in \freespace 2\blueplanet\ .

You also don't have the three patches for the 3.6.12 MediaVPs. You can get them from the 3.6.12 MediaVPs release thread.

You've messed up your installation - all Blue Planet 2 files need to be in a folder called blueplanet2, all Blue Planet 1 files in a folder called blueplanet. You can't alter these names.

I renamed Blue Planet 2 to blueplanet2, and Blue Planet 1 to blueplanet. I downloaded the 3 patches and placed them into my mediavps folder. I start the Inferno debug and it says "23 errors have been detected" or something like that.

Remove the space in "blueplanet 2". It needs to be blueplanet2.

You... have a mixture of MediaVPs. MV_Core definitely does NOT belong to the 3.6.12 MediaVPs, and the file count in at least MV_Assets is off. And you have the MV_Root patch but are missing MV_Root itself.
It's probably easiest for you to just delete everything in \freespace 2\mediavps_3612\ and then download the 3.6.12 MediaVPs from their release thread.

Yeah your MVPs are mixed up. You should only ave the 3.6.12s in mediavps_3612. I'd do what JeffVader said, just nuke the folder and redownload.

I redownloaded the 3612 mediavps, put them in the mediavps_3612 folder, and put the updates too. The 23 error message is no more.

However, several errors appear on the first cutscene, such as:

The music is actually from Two Steps from Hell, a piece called Freedom Fighters.

Please post your debug log, it looks like something's still wrong with your installation.

For starters, you forgot to delete one of the things JeffVader pointed out - go into your blueplanet folder and delete Copy of bp-core.vp. Does that help at all? (If not, something's probably corrupt...)

It doesn't look like your video card is going to do that well with this mod, but this error should be unrelated.

What I believe happened is you didn't go completely through the install checklist - if you installed AoA (blueplanet1) before WiH was released, you need to get the AoA patch that came out at the time WiH did. Redownload and overwrite bp-core, bp-visuals1 and bp-visuals2 from AoA.

Don't use the bp2-adv-visuals.vp. Your GPU (if that Intel abomination can be called that) will die on it.

You are. Could someone with MD5 checksums look at his log and figure out which of his files are corrupt? We've had this error before and it's always because of either corrupt or misdownloaded files.

Jeff, could you grab those two files (bp_visuals1 and bp-visuals2) from the Director's Cut thread as fresh downloads and just make sure the corruption isn't serverside? I'd do it myself but I'm all tied down.
