Title: Problems with BP [SOLVED]
Post by: Priami on February 06, 2011, 10:22:18 am
When i select Blue Planet 1 on FSO launcher and launch the game, i get warning about some errors detected.
When i start playing, everything is pretty much fine but some large ships are partially invisible, and SF Dragons are completely invisible.
What is wrong?

Please read the aptly named "Troubleshooting" topic stickied here, and follow the instructions found there.

I'm guessing you don't have the MediaVPs installed; you will need the 3.6.12 MediaVPs, located in a folder called 'mediavps_3612' in your FreeSpace 2 directory, in order to play Blue Planet.

Yeah, i did have those, they were automatically downloaded with FSO installer but Troubleshooting FAQ said that they are faulty, so i downloaded 3.6.10.
Now i cant play BP at all. I only get this (among with lots of other errors)

Code: [Select]
Verify failure: Vbuf0 != NULL

<no module>! KiFastSystemCallRet
<no module>! WaitForSingleObject + 18 bytes
<no module>! <no symbol>
<no module>! <no symbol>

EDIT: I'm now downloading 3.6.12 MediaVPs manually, i'll give it a try with those.

Yep, you need the 3.6.12 MVPs, the 3.6.10 ones won't work.

And don't forget to use the latest Inferno build.

Oh yes, you MUST have a 3.6.12 INFERNO build select; it needs to have INF in the filename.
