Several years ago, I was working on a campaign (tentatively titled "The Vega Incursion"). It was to be 7 missions but I had only completed the first 6 and never even started work on the seventh. The idea burned out and I still had the missions lying around though, so I figured I would release them.
WARNING: These missions have never been beta tested by anyone other than myself (with one exception, I sent the "Ganesh" mission to someone a few years ago and he said he liked it). They are probably unbalanced, either impossibly hard or ridiculously easy, bug - filled, and not linked together in a campaign. Still, if you want some semblance of a storyline, the correct order to play them in is as follows:
1. Avatar
2. Ganesh
3. Athens
4. Escape
5. Ziz
6. Iblis
Again, this is not a complete campaign. The missions should be playable, but the final mission was never made. I have abandoned this project so I won't be fixing anything that's wrong with these, so don't report bugs to me.
They do not require any mods to play
Anyway, here they are:

101 views but no comments? Someone please at least give me some feedback, even if it's just to say that these missions suck
-
Why not finish it if there's only one mission left to FRED? If you have problems with balancing, simply make them rather easy.
-
well yeah. You've got a big part of it done. Finish it! Will play through them at one time, but no time now...
-
Yeah, why not finish it, you are just missing one mission after all.
I'll play them on the weekend if nothing stops me :D
-
It was so long ago I've forgotten how to use FRED
-
Open FRED and start messing around. It's like riding a bike, you never truly forget it!
-
Except I did forget. Also I kind of need feedback because making a conclusion would be pointless if everything I have so far sucks
-
These missions rock! You should totally finish the final mission.:yes:
(disclaimer: I haven't actually played any of the missions)

Played 'Avatar', 11 minutes of endless respawning shivan fighters, the neptune finally jumps in. Attack orders on capital ships, aint pretty. 15 minutes in, still endless respawning the same waves. Avatar only at 50% health. I died. zero motivation to try again.
Command briefing was good though
edit: Ganesh's briefing is funny, icons from the previous stage visible in the next etc.
Same deal, fighters, bombers and a enemy destroyer. Doesn't seem to have much ties with the previous mission. No idea where this ravana came from. And for mysterious reasons, all the trebs are suddenly depleted? There were plenty of them onboard last mission
Athens, more attack orders on capital ships, how unsightly D:
The deimos actually crashed into the arcadia station because of it.
More shivans? isn't this post capella? where are they all coming from?
Escape, lillith jumps in, pretty much single handely takes down the Orion, until it starts doing broadside maneuvers because of.... capital ship attack orders! \o/
Shiploadout choice for some reason is actually decreasing. Everything was available in the first mission, but now I can only pick the loki, herc II, myrm and perseus?
lost interest now, there's nothing in these missions that make me really want to keep playing
-
Well like the command briefing states a bunch of Shivans escaped from Capella into Vega.
Is issuing attack orders for capital ships really so awful?
I can actually beat Avatar consistently, but maybe that's just because I designed it.
The reason fewer weapons and ships were available is because the GTVA forces in Vega threw almost everything they had at the Avatar, then when the Athens got taken down they were basically cut off from support and most of their equipment
Anyway, thanks for the feedback. I guess I won't be finishing this campaign.
-
Sorry if I came across as really harsh
Is issuing attack orders for capital ships really so awful?
It should only be used when there is a considerable distance between the two capital ships. Once they are in close range, they begin this really ugly and ackward looking circle movement. Use navpoints for capital ships.
As for it being awful: "The deimos actually crashed into the arcadia station because of it."
That alone should tell you enough :p
-
Okay, I'll keep that in mind (although that never happened when I tested the mission)

The only time I used it was to simulate a corvette deciding at the last moment not to ram, and that was because at the time it caused capital ships to do a funny little wobbling motion when they turned away.

Maybe someone could play the last two and see if they're any better?
-
Sorry to bug everyone again, but I would like some feedback on the last two missions if anyone would be so masochistic enough to play them.
-
Will play them , because want to play some freespace goodness, will post my impresions soon
-
I wouldn't exactly expect "goodness" if I were you
-
With goodness I was referring the game itself , because it's is my favorite game but I will play this missions tomorrow I think
