Title: Flames of War - time for some voice!
Post by: TrashMan on February 25, 2011, 01:12:38 am
I've been thinking of getting it voice-acted for some time now, but always kept pushing it back. Partially because organizing all of it would be a chore, and I'm a 1-man team.

But to hell with it all, people like voice-acting and God willing, they shell recieve. So to any voice-actors that are interest.. post here, preferably which role(s) you'd like to voice.

Note that I was thinking of voicing COTS, but if there's interest for the first part too..why not?

EDIT: And because voice-acting is time and effort-consuming, I?d appreciate any help with organizing all this stuff.

Isn't $Callsign used in a couple of places in FOW?
You'd have to change that, otherwise it'd put a wrench into your VAing attempts.

Just like some other games, the voice actor just doesn't pronounce it. :p

So "Nice move, Reaper." becomes "Nice Move."

A cheap trick, I know...

Nope...there seems to be no interest.

Oh well....I'll devote my time to other things then...

Perhaps listing your roles in the OP would help? As I understand, there are a fair few VA's hanging around that probably haven't played your campaign, but would probably be willing to do some voicework for whatever.

It would have helped if you'd been a tad more explicit in the opening post. Just telling people to "Post what roles you'd be interested in" isn't very conducive to getting people interested. You need to write out some roles, with some audition lines, explain some small roles vs. larger roles etc. etc.

Unfortunately, FoW is one of the smaller, less well known campaigns around the place - eve n the more well known campaigns rarely get spontaneous voicing byc community effort, and if you're really keen to get it for FoW, you need to put in a bit of effort at the beginning of the process.
