Hi
didn't realy know where to post this but here it is
I was wondering if there are any german members of the community out there that could give me a translation of the word space (not space within a room but outer space) from english to German.
Much appreciation in advance.

Wofür brauchst du ne Übersetzung? :wtf:
Nur für das Wort "Space" oder wie jetzt
Space = Weltall, Weltraum, All, Raum, Platz, Stauraum
...und was auch immer es noch für Wörter für Space gibt...
Sonst noch welche Fragen und wünsche offen? xD
Wenn ja, dann gib bescheid...

For the other people who can't speak german...
Why do you need a translation? :wtf:
Only for the word "Space" or something else
Space = Weltall, Weltraum, All, Raum, Platz, Stauraum
...and so on...
Any other questions? xD
If there are some questions...
...ask me...

The latter things are what he didn't ask for - because that's space e.g. inside a room or a car.
But I'm also interested what for you need that translation :)
EDIT:
That guy above and below this post overkills smileys and foreign languages.

me, too
he only needs a translation of "space"...
...thats strange...:wtf:
Rück mal raus mit der Sprache, wofür du die Übersetzung brauchst :wtf:
(Tell us why you need a translation of this word :wtf: )

This may sound stupid to those who are native speaking germans(and any one else for that matter) but for a story I was writing I was looking for a good name for a speculative German space core and was looking for a good name for them. I like the sound of the German air force luftewaffe, so I thought why not the weltwaffe or something similar. If this is a stupid idea or it is insulting I am very sory and apoligize.
-
It's not necessarily stupid, it's just not something any native speaker would do. In german, the term "Raumflotte" (Space Fleet) would be used, "Weltallwaffe" just sounds stupid. Reason being that "Waffe" means weapon, therefore the first thing one would think upon reading the tem "Weltallwaffe" would be "a weapon that works in space".
-
What about "Weltallwaidmann"? :P
-
It's possible, but..... Noone in his right mind would come up with that. It sounds like something out of the 1930s.
-
och 1930's that harsh but thank you E. Raumflotte sounds much better and apparently much better to native speakers. Much thanks.
