So, since it has been roughly a day or so and my account still hasn't been activated by a moderator on their forums. I thought i'd show my fellow HLP'ers my issue with Steam.
My issue with steam is the server browser. For some reason, I am not getting half or even less than half of the servers I'm supposed to get, and after I've gotten all that I can get. I have to wait a full 15 minutes to get the same amount, if refresh it any sooner I get even less.
Here's a video example http://www.xfire.com/video/4336c3/
(Just started the quickest and the game I think has the most servers. Strengthed by the fact when Llama said [14:49:00] <%Lamah> man there are a lot of CSS servers
[14:49:05] <%Lamah> 23908
[14:49:13] <%Lamah> final number)
This is something that I think started happening 2-3 months ago. A steam update must have changed something in their server browser architecture.
So yeah. I've finally grown tired of this issue (Should have done a long time ago frankly :P) and I'm hoping you fellas can help me out until I can post this on the steam forums. (Damn their moderation activation taking forever)
EDIT: Yeah, this applies to ALL games who use the steam server browser architecture. I haven't gotten anything similar in any other game that doesn't use it.

There's some page on the Steam support site that states you have to have certain ports open for the Steam server architecture to work correctly.
27001-some other port if I recall correctly.
-
Yup, it's not ports though, all required steam and steam game ports are open.
-
Oddly enough, I registered for their forums several days ago as well. I haven't been accepted either.
-
Try verifying your game cache files and re-logging into Steam, that fixes a lot of problems.
-
Trust me Sigtau. I've done the damage control, this is less about the game and more about this new server architecture.
-
Wait for fix, ***** at steam. But until then, when i was on steam i had to do this once (https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=5539-MJWZ-7760).
It's sounding like that this wont work for you or that you may have already tried it.

Well this makes fixing it either easier or a lot harder.
