Does anyone know why some user-made textures look like this in game?

The map files themselves look perfect in photoshop, but for this particular model (Phoenix Rising) they don't transition well to FRED/ in-game. Any suggestions?

Please post a debug log. In cases like these, it's usually the GPU/GPU driver that's screwing up.

I'd say that's your problem right there. I guess that card has issues with 2048^2-sized, compressed textures.

Converting them to tga or u888/u555 dds might work. Note that you'll have to delete/rename the dds files if you convert them to tga. In the long run, however, a new video card would be a really good thing, especially if you're planning to use modern ships like the Phoenix Rising.
