Can anyone tell me the weapons that weren't used in the FS2 main campaign?
This is important.......
I know the targeting laser, and I think the Shivan super laser.
Don't know about the secondaries (MX-50?)
Help needed! :)
-
I don't think the dogfight versions were used, either.
-
Dass multiplayah, hon. Dey's not FOAH de one-person campaign.;)
-
Whats the difference between regular versions and dogfight versions?

Dogfight versions are modified to be more suitable for a dogfight :D
-
So they fire faster and have less energy use?
-
Precisely.
Also, I think the Vasudan Flux Cannon wasn't in there.
-
They didn't work in single-player, for one.
The heavy guns were weaker, and the light guns more powerful. And that was about it. They don't really count.
-
All the D weapons
AAAh
Targeting Laser
TAG-C
Shivan Super Laser
Vasudan Flux Cannon
Unknown bomb
Unknown Megabomb
Stuff I'm not sure of:
S-AAA-weak
Rebel bomb

The Medusas launch an ordinace designated "Rebel Bomb". They're extremely weak compared to most bombs.

It's basically a Tsunami. I have the NTF using Tsunamis in my campaign, so just think of em as that.
-
Actually Rebel bombs are weaker than Tsunamis. Tsus should be able to take down a freighter in at least two hits. A Reb Bomb takes about four or five.
-
The Tsunami and the Rebel Bomb use the same model. I doubt they have anything else in common.
-
Er... the Rebel Bomb is supposed to be a fire-and-forget Cyclops, I think...;)
-
Possibly...NTF Bombers usually fired and veered away in a matter of seconds...could be fire-and-forget.
-
In fact, it probably says so right in the table... I don't know where else I would have gotten that tidbit from, and I don't see myself having gone to the trouble to figure that out by comparing the numbers...
-
right....:snipe:
-
I need to knowe which weapons were used in the main camapign, so I don't overwrite them...... I want to try and keep the techroom working, so I'm trying to replace rather than add.
-
AAAh is used in 7 missions. Here is how to tell what is and isn't used: Extract all the missions, the ships.tbl, and the weapons.tbl to a folder. Use Find Files & Folders to search that folder for files that contain the weapon name. (inside double quotes)
-
Oh okay; maybe that was a gameplay tweak for certain missions. (AAAh is less accurate) The S-AAA-weak might be in there somewhere as well, but I haven't seen it yet. I guess a revised list would be:
All the D weapons
Targeting Laser
TAG-C
Shivan Super Laser
Vasudan Flux Cannon
Unknown bomb
Unknown Megabomb
S-AAA-weak
-
The Unknown Bomb and Unknown Megabomb were used by Shivan Bombers I think.
-
Never known the 'unknown' bombs to be used in the main campaign, but it's been a good while since I checked those missions. I really should pull them out again for reference in Angel Storm.
-

The Vasudan Flux Cannon is mounted on the Hatesput class destroyers. (the missile like, slow moving granade).!

Not by default. The Hateesput's default weapons include:
SVas
BVas
Fusion Mortar
Standard Flak
Terran Huge Turret
AAAf

The Unknown Bomb and Unknown Megabomb were used by Shivan Bombers I think.
Actually those were used by the Shivans in FS1, but in FS2 they just used the GTVA bombs. :p
-
NTF Bombers usually fired and veered away in a matter of seconds...could be fire-and-forget.
In that case all the bombs in FS were fire-and-forget, because I can do the same with the Cylopse (sp?) in a bomber.
There was the Vasudan Light Laser in the table? If so it's basically a left over since it does very little shield damage (and only a little more hull damage).
-
Usually you cant get a good lock on a target with a bunch of fighters shooting you. I don't think the computer used aspect locking. If you notice, they always fire missiles very quickly.
-
maybe its the "good-secondary time" SEXP...... :nervous:

???
