Update:
Bit of an update here for everyone, the kit is now finished and available for purchase! Here's the link (https://starshipmodeler.biz/shop/index.cfm/product/2319/172-e-wing-mk-ii.cfm) I've got one of these at home here, and I'm very happy with the quality, it's very detailed. Keep your eyes peeled, I think my Z-95 may be coming next!
Old post follows:
A fellow by the name of Nicholas Sagan (No, I don't believe he's related to THAT Sagan) is producing a master of what will eventually become an plastic model kit of my E-wing design available for sale! Pretty cool, eh? I've been working with him for a few months now, getting the design into a state that can be made into a physical model, and I've been assured that he's not going to be screwing around with it other than for absolute feasibility.
You can follow the progress of the kit on Nicholas' blog. The initial announcement post is here: http://nicholassagan.wordpress.com/2011/03/28/bench-update-172-e-wing-mkii-master-has-begun/
Here's the blog's main link: http://nicholassagan.wordpress.com/
And if anyone's interested in chiming in about interest in getting one, here's the thead: http://www.starshipmodeler.net/talk/viewtopic.php?t=89112&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=
Have a good one all!

THE MASTER'S BACK!

<Welcome Back!> brandx! Good to see you're alive!
-
+1 for awesome news!
Welcome back, Brand.
:)

Congrats, brand - there's nothing cooler than having a model kit built based on your own work. I should know - I'll probably be making a similar post soon, only bsg blackbird related ;)
Anyway, hope this version becomes the definitive E-Wing one, it's best by far.
-
I just wish he wasn't calling it the MkII, it'd have a better chance of sticking.
-
Interesting... does anyone remember this (http://www.pienoismallit.net/galleria/malli_8102/)?
What will the dimensions of the finished model be with 1:72 scale? That scratch-built one is 300 mm long.
-
As far as I've heard the finished kit will be roughly 16 cm long, matching in well with the 11.5m length I scaled it at originally.

Another update here: Pieces have come back from the printers

Wow, it sold out in the first 24 hours. A second production run is on its way though.
