Title: Homemade Ani Reticle Problem
Post by: SeeNeYe on April 02, 2011, 09:48:43 am
Hi all

I've tried to change the default ani files for the hud reticle (see attached file).
I've done it following the instructions provided by the wiki (using ani builder, using the same 256 colors palette as the default reticle, same resolution, etc).

But the problem is that the reticle is not displayed at all in Freespace 2  :blah:

I've done another test by exporting the frames in pcx (with aniview) of the original anis in pcx and then re-exporting it in ani, and i've got the same problem (i use photoshop for all the process).

Anyone could help me on this annoying issue ?

Thanks in advance !

You had the right palette, but it was reversed for some reason.

I fixed it for you: http://www.ciinet.org/kevin/myimages/SeeNeYeReticles.7z

Next time you need to make ANIs with a specific pallet, I reccomend checking out this tutorial (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=74636.0). Specifically, grab my ANI toolkit and follow the instructions in the readme about creating an ANI with the specialized pallet. (It will do it from any image sequence type you can throw at it with very few steps.)
