Hi I´ve installed the FSO and downloaded everything. I've been playin some mods (blue planet and derelict). The thing is: How can I get the new hi detail models and effects like Blue Planet in other mods? I've seen a video in youtube of derelict with updated graphics.
Thanks!

If you have downloaded everything, you should have a folder named "MediaVPs_3612" in your FS2 directory. Open the Launcher, go to the "Mod" tab, click on browse, and select that folder.

That will enable the MVPs for the main FS2 campaign but not for others.
At the moment, unfortunately, Derelict will not work with the 3.6.12 MVPs. You can find and download the 3.6.10 MVPs in the FreeSpace Upgrade Project forum; make sure they extract to a folder called 'mediavps'.

I thought the beam-fade fix made Derelict playable again? It certainly seemed to be when I ran through it in December.

If you have the Patch VP files (the one's ending in .3612.vp) the Derelict is indeed playable again.
Bat's should know this. But if he didn't, now he does. And if for some reason those files don't fix or allow for Derelict to play, I'd like to hear it.

I was just going to say, I'm currently playing through Derelict.
However, to get mediavps enhanced graphics, I had to copy my mediavps_3612 folder to mediavps.
Prior to that, I had edited the mod.ini to reference mediavps_3612, but that did not help. The launcher still invoked the executable with -mod derelict, mediavps.
It's ugly, but it works for me.

Thats...odd. All I had to do was edit my mod.ini, and it ran with _3612 just fine. Maybe try reselecting the mod in the launcher to ensure it loads correctly?

That is what you need to do.

I'll try that as soon as I can. :)
EDIT: Yeah, that works.
