Title: Sky Darkens on Good Friday?!
Post by: Marcov on April 22, 2011, 02:26:12 am
Self-explanatory. Today, at exactly 3:00 PM, the sky turns a little dark.

Does this happen to you? (Note: It's about 4:00 PM now here).

Are you sure it wasn't a cloud? They can do that you know. :blah:

wat

In other news, as the day progresses past midday, it tends to get less bright.

In other news from the "stating the blood obvious" department, grass is green.

Holy crap, he may be on to something, I just looked outside my window and it's REALLY a lot darker out there.

But then, it had better be, it's friggen MIDNIGHT where I am. Maybe if it got a lot BRIGHTER instead, I'd have something to worry about.

Scenario fulfillment strikes again.

Not trying to trample on people's religious beliefs, but when you expect it to get dark early at a specific time on a specific day, you'll accept only the evidence that leads to the fulfillment of that scenario, and ignore any other evidence that doesn't contribute to that.

Sunny with a chance of bull****.

Actually, it's the brightest day this week. Sun is baking right in my windows so that I can barely see anything on my screen, and I wish something would darken it up a bit. Spend a couple hours outside just basking earlier, too, plus some general walking around and enjoying the (extremely sunny) weather.

So it seems unlikely it'll happen to me. However, it's still ten minutes to three, so if some dark cloud magically obscures the sun in the next fifteen minutes or so, I'll make sure to get back to you.

Update: A Boeing 747 passed more-or-less overhead around fifteen past three. It must have cast a shadow somewhere nearby. Does that count? Other than that, still sunny, and no dark clouds of doom.

At 3:47 today, Snail turned off the lights when exiting a room. Consequently, the room was noticeably darker.

Did it create a contrail that eventually resembled the Virgin Mary?

YES!!! It was elongated with protrusions on either side somewhere just before the middle. Also, the contrails reflected the light in a most Halo-like manner, and I believe I may have heard a choir of angels* singing in the background. T'was truly a revelation.

*Choir of Angels may or may not have been an icecream salesman

It's almost Noon here, and it's darker than it is most days.
But then again, Kansas. :P

This makes me wish we had a "like" button.  Did you happen to catch that thunderstorm that rolled through early morning?

Actually, yes. The sidewalks and streets were still wet but now most of it has dried up.

However it's still overcast.

It's the brightest it's been this whole week.

Then again, we're just north of Kansas :p  so we've been overcast most of the week.

Sky Darkens Every Day?!

Not since the sun started shining out of my ass.  It's been pretty uniformly bright around here since then.

It was actually cloudy and chilly here today, which was an unpleasant swing from the balmy sunny weather yesterday.  But I think Easter's supposed to get nice and warm again, so that's good.

Apparently this year's been/will continue to be a La Nina, which means I can look forward to continuously dark and overcast skies through the rest of Spring. :(

Booo... I'm tired of dark and overcast. I want more sun. At least the temperatures are consistently above freezing and the snow has melted.
