Very hard to see.
-
Yeah, its out in deep space so, the only real light sources would be the Shivan beams.
-
Very hard to see. The Vigilant is an Aeolus, right??

Very nice, and as others have said it's hard to see but that gives some scary feeling on it ;)
-
Screw you all, I like that it's hard to see, this was the first attack by a shivan destroyer since the Lucifer.
It's dark, it's scary, it's Shivans, it's awesome, shut up :D
-
part from the command brief?
:wtf:
I'd like seeing a good render with the Vigilant going down in a nice blaze...... :D :D ;)

Actually, it was a Rakshasa that wasted the Vigilant, not a destroyer. Oh well :)

Yea sorry, Cruiser, my bad, you get the point though, Ooooo scary

In the spirit of this recent surfeit of posts that simply quote what someone else said pretty much at random, and make no further comment:

That smiley has gone beyond old and worn out. It is now old, smelly, bright orange, and hairy.

Now the banana; THAT kicks ass. IT should be on the smiley list instead of the sniper. You hear that, Thunder? Remember- you owe me for... er... something... that might have happened... a while back...
I see you don't remember. Gimme a minute, I'll recall it. In the meantime, the banana needs to get listed.

That'd have to be VERY deep in outer space...outside the galaxy, because the stars would still provide some illumination, and I assume the vessel wouldn't be patrolling just empty space, but a jump node somewhere, which is in a system with a sun.

Yeah, it was inspired by the scene from the command brief. I was gonna experiment with making subspace effects as well but I just can't get it right yet.

Light sources from distant stars wouldn't be that bright would it?
As for why the Vigilant was out there...
All information relating to the mission is classified level Rho :)
Oh and I didn't include a star field for this image simply cos it looked like sh!te with the whole low light effects of the image.

When playing 'Their Finest Hour' it seemed pretty bright at the Gamma Drak node.
-
I know but I had to come up with some excuse as to why it was so dark. I really just wanted to go for effect and the Vigilants death seemed appropriate.
Ambushed, alone in the dark and without a hope of rescue.
-
ok this is pissing me off now, when ever i click a link relating to warpstorm it just goes to the hompage, is this normal and me being dumb, or is summit reall screwy going on (and yes i have tried copy and pasting)
-
No, its not normal. Hmmm, anyway if you want to see the image just look in the archives.
Sorry, I can't help you with the link problems.
-
Moody little render there. I like.
-
*thinking from the earth intel ANI*
-
I'm sure it's based on the ani. Is there any problem with that that I fail to recognize?
-
The quality is almost same. Remember the small pic from lucy entering the sol node...?

Your right. I was playing the game again and saw the cutscene. After that I thought I'd have a go at trying make a scene from it myself and I thought the results were pretty nice.
