I am going to start long but it will get short really fast, stay with me!
So, it was back in 2000 that i got my first PC. My friend brings me some games to play. First one i install, as a SF fan, is FreeSpace. I play it once. Then I play it again. And then again. And then 2 more times. (it was summer) After that some time passes and in my friend's game collection i stumble upon FreeSpace 2. Well you can ges what happens next. To this day i played it more than 15 times. Made me a Space sim fan for life.
So its 10 years later now, and from a total pc noob i evolved to a somewhat advanced pc user. Got me a new pc, faster internet speed to. But love for FreeSpace stayed the same.
Now that i have some time on my hands, and some skill, and a good pc i was thinking to merge two things that i love the most
SF movies and SF games. I am planing to make a YouTube SF series using FS 2 and help from some friends. (the friend from the start of the topic is an actor)
I am doing research for some time now, on FS2 mods, video clips, user made content. But i haven't followed the FS for years and it's hard to catch up.
So what i need is help from anyone who has followed the FS2 to answer some of my questions here and link me similar projects to mine that have been made or planed on.
Can i count on your support?
Things you have already told me on this topic:
1. familiarizing yourself with FSO ------- in progress (thx to The E)
2. use shift+0 to hide HUD for video making ------(thx to Deadly in a Shadow)
3. you need MediaVPs (a mod containing improved assets ----- (thx to Jeff Vader)
4. FRED has also evolved --------- (thx to Jeff Vader)
5. Cutscene using the FreeSpace engine, FreD by Spidey---- (thx to Satellight)

Well, yes.
However, I would recommend familiarizing yourself with FSO first. Your first step should be to install it all, guides on how to do that can be found stickied here.

Any projects like mine made or in making?
After installing FS2 again, which are the extra mods, files, textures, videos, music that have been made for FS2 that i can use to get my version of FS2 to the max in terms of quality?
The mission editor(whit which i have some experience) has there been any new version and where can i find them?
In order to shot footage for this series is there a mood that i can use to hide the HUD while playing the game?

You'll need FSO (the new, better game engine for FS2) and the MediaVPs (a mod containing improved assets, such as textures, models and effects).

FRED has also evolved as an open-source version, like FSO. Please direct any possible FREDding questions to the FRED board.

Do you know of any written works, stories, comic books, scripts or anything like that made from the lore of FS ?
Are you, or any other people you know that love FS as we do, interested to voice act for this project?
(requirements are to be fluent in English, have Skype, microphone, and have will and time for this, your english accent is not important as diffident accent's can make for a better story telling)

Aside from the fanfic, and the released campaigns, and the campaigns under development? No.

There's a complete subforum for voice acting here (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?board=126.0). However, experience shows that going to dedicated VA forums like the Voice Acting Alliance also yields good results.

Ok, thx for all the help, I have instaled FS2, for the God knows which time ... bring back memories :)
Now am in the process of download+ install of the upgraded version. After that need to update the mission editor if i have got all this correctly and get the main mods in as well.
So my hardest part is now to write my own story for the series. I will consult with the community here as i make my story and will try to make it unique and new.
Is there a part of the forum that i should use for this?

Pretty much this. But you should consider playing the many user-made campaigns that have been released.

And I intend to, first to make sure i don't make my story similar to something that someone already made second to give me some creative ideas. And to have some fun :)

I'd suggest SGWP2 as a stellar example of what not to do.
