Title: Bombs and Blast Damages
Post by: Tar-Palantir on May 13, 2002, 04:14:57 am
Maybe not a strickly modelling problem but...

does anyone know a way to make a bomb which does 'normal' damage but with a shockwave that does very very very little (if any) damage. I've got a mission in Time of Change (that fine campaign :D *) and would like to have a a Shivan Bomb varient which is suitible to use when I have unshielded fighters.

I've tried mucking around with 'blast damage' values but that does nothing. I've currently got a weaker bomb varient with a smaller shockwave (which would work almost as well) but would really like the bomb to near enough identical to the usual bombs which I will use in most of the other mission.

Thanks

* Hell, if I don't adversise my campaign, who will?

Blast damage works fine. If it doesn't seem to work, you must be doing something wrong.

Actually you could say that about all of the existing bombs in the game. :D

Try playing without shields then see how a shockwave feels :D

The last mission of FS1, they used a Harbinger bomb but with a VERY small shockwave.  Set the outer blast area to less than 150 and the inner at 50 and you should be safe from big shockwaves.

That doesn't surprise me in the least. Oh, well I'll have a look back at what I'm going. Cheers.
