Title: why I love Japan
Post by: Bobboau on May 11, 2011, 05:23:13 am
working tirelessly, the greatest minds of a generation, collaborating, unraveling the innermost secrets of the mechanics of the most complex and enigmatic structures in the known universe, the human brain, delving deep into what one could describe as our very souls, finally a breakthrough has been made and the barrier between man and his creations has been removed allowing our very thoughts to control machines.

all so that we can have cute animal ears that move on their own (http://communities.canada.com/vancouversun/blogs/geekingout/archive/2011/05/06/the-future-is-here-neuroware-is-reality-as-a-hat-with-fluffy-cat-ears.aspx).

Without irony, this is why I ****ing love Japan.

Only the Japanese would invest time and money into finding out how the brain works to make mind-controlled catgirl ears.  And that's why they're awesome.

That's really cool. I would love to get ahold of neuro interface hardware. I guess they're correlating specific EM transmissions with motor movements?

Prosthetic arms aren't catgirl ears.  I can't believe you hang out on this forum and not think mind-controlled catgirl ears are awesome.

To quote Batman... "does it come in black?"  ^_^

I'd get one just to screw around with my cat's mind.

Now we just need to get them to combine it with.. a Gundam.

The catgirl part is optional and secondary.  Mind-controlled anything is great though.

If this came from any other country, I'd assume that the company was marketing their proof-of-concept prototype to fund further research and development of this technology for practical applications.  Since this came from Japan, I'm fully convinced that cybernetic cat ears were the end goal.

Something like this for maybe a household pet would be fascinating.

With that out of the way, yeah, the Japanese are evidently quite talented at stuff, and things.

You guys already tried that, twice. The result: almost every american household has a Nintendo console in it. Nuke them again and you'll all be driving Toyota Corollas and Honda Civics. Oh, wait..  :P

So THE way to boost the American economy is to nuke them.

Interesting prospect.
