Title: Beam Cannons

ok, so I wanted to make a BIG space battle (yay!! ^_^ ) as a first time deal (just started with FRED cause I love Freespace 2 and i LOOOOVE designing maps for ALL sorts of games). just a cap ship, couple corvettes and cruisers on each side. Nothing big. I went to load it and NONE of them were firing beam cannons. I had gotten a message saying 1 type of gun had failed to load, but it wanted to know if I would like to continue anyway (I thought it was the Kayser on the Pegasus). Any ideas?

And does FRED always bog down a PC?

editors -> mission specs -> all ships beam-free-all by default. There are loads of settings because the SCP is awesome, but it's at the far right.

You should go to the FRED view menu and hit 'show ship models' to improve your framerate.

Something tells me you should the the FRED walkthrough.
Should be mandatory to complete before asking for help IMO. :P
