Title: 3D, pffff how last century
Post by: headdie on May 13, 2011, 06:44:49 am

basically the allies were using 3D photography to study Nazi positions, particularly in the search for the V1 and V2 missile sites.

Also a big nod of respect to the pilots who flew the recon missions, unarmed!!! while having to follow a precise pattern over the same area in order to provide the images needed.

That's very impressive indeed there. Imagine what sort of technology there's out there already, that no one tells us about or shows.

Yeah, these things are really useful for geology as well - we used them for air photo analysis at uni.
