Hi everyone, remember that one?

Yeah, this is GTD Damocles by Aldo! :D

Some time ago I asked Aldo about old and unreleased Lost Souls models because I wanted some of them for Shadow Genesis. He said that he will release that stuff, and surprisingly he did it! Everything is on his old site: http://sectorgame.com/aldo/lost_souls_old/ (http://sectorgame.com/aldo/lost_souls_old/)
Unfortunately, these models needs some love. Most of them are unconverted, unsmoothed, badly centered etc. I started to finishing the Damocles and I've fixed a lot of bugs on PCS2 level, but it still needs modelcentering and resmoothing. My version of that model is probably able to use in missions, however it still need a lot of fixes. I can upload it if you want.
I'm posting it here because Aldo didn't released these models only for me, but for whole community. He just said "good hunting" :).
If anyone is interested at finishing that stuff, you're welcome.

Edit: Aldo will probably upload more files. I've found screenshots of oa few newly released models here: http://www.sectorgame.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=3825 (http://www.sectorgame.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=3825)

Very nice, and thanks for cleaning it up Mr. Betrayal.

I've just noticed a problem which all of his stuff from LS (not only these, but also Hestia, Chunbis, Corsair and Scmitar) has.
It seems to have something wrong with lighting, like it was "inverted" (place which light shines on darkens and where there's no light, lights up).
It's not very noticable in game though.

It seems to be smoothing-related problem. Aldo did something wrong when he was converting his models. It will probably disappear after resmoothing whole model.

Maybe, but I suspect it's more than simple smoothing.
I can be wrong though, could somebody experienced in such things take a look at these models?

Smoothing is the only thing I know of that can cause "inverted lighting" issues.

Those Nightmare models need to be added. :D

You need to reset their X-Form. Smoothing does not cause inverted lighting. Improper x-forms do.
The Collada Exporter generally requires you to do it if necessary, but the Max->Pof one does not (and hence produces this lighting error, along with other things it won't catch)

Smoothing does not cause inverted lighting.

Not entirely correct. If you have your smooth groups all funky, you'll see weird areas where lighting seems to change across flat panels. Theoretically, this could easily look like inverted lighting.

Yes, but these models actually have decent smoothing (they're not like, mono-smoothed or something), but they have lighting issues.
You could have both of course, but fixing the smoothing probably won't do anything unless you reset x-form.

The model looks absolutely fine in Max (which carries transformations and such), so there.

Could you try to fix these models (and, if possible, the other models from LS), Droid?
Also, it would be great if you could convert Wyvern and Nightmare fighters.
They are all awesome designs, but broken lighting lowers their visual quality (not to mention making testing normalmaps difficult).

The wee Jock needs to come back at some point. No doubt he's already played BP etc etc, but it'd be nice to get feedback from one of the neo oldies.

I'd really like to see those nightmares ingame ready... (I already have a use for them  :drevil:)

Again, all the thanks to Aldo for makeing them and to Betrayal to drag them into the light of the day....
