Title: Freespace Cursor Files
Post by: SirCumference on May 25, 2011, 05:28:04 pm
Are the cursor files used in Freespace any different from normal .ani files? I extracted a couple of different files from the VPs, specifically the FS2 cursor and the Blue Planet cursor. I want to set one of them the cursor for my mouse. Both files are .ani, but for some reason I can't open them with RealWorld Cursor Editor. I can open other .ani files, but not ones that I extract from the VPs. Anyone have any suggestions as to what's wrong, or does anybody know of a better cursor editor? Thanks!

FS2 .ani files are a special, FS2-exclusive format. You will need to use aniview (which is available in the installers' "Tools" section) to extract the frames, and then convert those into an animated cursor.

Oh, okay. I never used the installer, so I don't have aniview. I'll download it now. Thanks!
