Title: RELEASE: Hertak Apocalypse

Hurrah. So this thing is finally done and in game. It's a light cruiser that's actually smaller than the Armageddon, because I felt the need of a capship that isn't as overkill as the Armageddon. Something smaller, faster, and could serve as a raider ship or storm beachheads, or just serve in missions where speed is a bigger emphasis over brute strength.

Download HERE (http://www.mediafire.com/?dap159jexdlvqfd). Includes tables and a rather lame test mission.

EDIT: lol icantspellHurrrtak

Nope, a different Hertak ship, not known to general public (IIRC).
I don't know why I remembered it being named Apocalypse.

Because I thought it was the same as Apocalypse, which is known.

No, the Apocalypse was never spoken of...
Because there is no Apocalypse. Except this one...

Hey, hey! Any Lyraeians here?! WE NEED INTEL!
The definition "light cruiser" doesn't fit. That thing is superior than most of the LSF ships. If you wanna destroy it, use firepower. But it's easier to destroy a Apocalypse than an Armageddon. If you sit in a fighter, it isn't that suicidal if you attack that claw-thing.

Spoiler:
Or call in Infi or Nanoha

The Hertak are significantly more technologically advanced over the LSF though. It goes like this:

Aleyurians>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Hertak>>>CSA>>ZGF>>FSGF>>LSF>>STTQ>>>Nordera

So anything that the Hertak might call a light cruiser will kill anything the LSF has. =p

I think we've spent our acronym budget...

Also, I note the absence of the Cordi there. In a certain way, they are extremely advanced too, only biologically, which is world of complexity apart from technological advance.

Compare building a robot that shakes your hand, and growing a biological construct that shakes your hand.

Give me an hour or two with my girlfriend, wait 9 months and I'll have a biological construct technically capable of shaking your hand, though you might have to wait until it works out how to use it's motor functions.

But more seriously, I take yer point.

Actually, the Cordi are there. STTQ is a new designation for them.

STTQ = Service To The Queen. I wonder who that is. :P

EDIT: Grrrr got beaten by Dragon.

I wouldn't be so sure the Cordi are less advanced than the LSF.
Judging from ingame chatter they were able to build much stronger ships than the mothership, but the Hertak forced them into not doing that.
As for massive swarms of weak fighters, that could be either a result of their social structure, were the individual seems to count far less than in Human society, or it might also be something impsed onto them by the Hertak.
The LSF certainly was very surprised about the Cordi being able to mount jumpdrives on such tiny fighters, so at least in terms of jumpdrive miniaturization the Cordi are better than Humans.

As far as I gathered the backstory, the Zy and Fura'ngle share the same technology, though the Zy seem to have better designed ships. Wether their technology is superior or inferiour to Cyrvan technology is rather hard to judge, since we know so little of either.
But consider this: Crystal was surprised about the enemy jumping inside the jump inhibitor field, so they have at least some tricks up their sleeves that the Cyrvans don't have.

Definitely would love to see some butt-whooping Cordi designs post-Hertak domination, how will their military structure have changed as a result?

Bigger carriers. More powerful beam weapons, better anti-fighter weapons for capships (those pulse weapons aren't the best solution). Better fightercraft and so on.

AND better Hetak countermeasures (like those Zy uber bomb).

Actually, I've noticed that this simple "chart" is nonindicative. Zy and Fura'ngle are similar in technological advancement, but Zy ships were designed purely for war, while Fura'ngle were not. Fura'ngle (I assume) jump technology outclasses that of CSA (as mentioned in M04), Nordera can take a lot of hits, way more than Cordi. In fact, "technology level" concept known from RTSes doesn't really seem to apply here, each race has it's strenghts and weaknesses. Not to mention Fura'ngle are alien enough to have nothing in common with how other races developed and there was plenty of technology sharing.
