When you click on one of the briefing ship icons, the BriefPop window seems to have very little lighting. If you go to either Ship Selection or Weapon Loadout screen and return, the lighting self corrects.

This didn't just change in 7200+ builds did it?

I was actively looking for BriefPop, before that didn't know it existed. Didn't expect a ship view popup.

What I think Chief meant is, which builds can you reproduce this on?
I, for one, can confirm that this is not happening on Nightly 7109. In fact there's no lighting at all in the brief ship popup, the ship is just rendered solid, diffuse map only.

Based of r7204 with MVP 3.6.12

Can you try the last nightly before 7200 then? Or some range of them in between 7109 and 7204 so we can narrow down where it happened?

... in fact I cannot reproduce this on 7201 and 7223 either, the ships are always rendered diffuse-only for me. On a Windows system, NVidia card.

I really have no idea why this is happening, the briefing popup screens pretty explicitly use the MR_NOLIGHTING render mode....

Just wanted to chime in and say yep! Had no idea you could do this myself even. It seems like every second day I/we/you're learning something new about Freespace 2.
Will definitely have to check this out tonight!
