I'm thinking it's the lead indicator for the dumb fire missiles. Is that right?

More specifically, it's the lead indicator for whatever secondary weapon you have selected, it's just that you never notice when it's an aspect missile because then it sits in the middle of the primary lead indicator.

Well it only separates from the lead indicator when it's being used with a dumbfire, otherwise it sticks in the middle of the lead indicator.
