Title: interested in some work
Post by: AtomicClucker on June 04, 2011, 02:00:41 am
if any of you folks are interested in having me create a ship or two, just squawk, or cluck and flap your feathers.

since I'll be finishing the base LSF Cavalier for Spoon and WoD, i'm interested in throwing in some muscle to help a few other projects and continue to hone my modeling skills.

There's a lot of talent here, and I don't mind adding to the mix.

Just wondering: Do you only do models or textures/uv maps as well?

You should take a look at the Inferno Project; we always need diligent people such as yourself to work on ships/UVmapping/texturing.

should you be willing, we might use your help (should the extractor fail) to create a few low detail ships for a star crusader project we have alex and I...

I myself wouldn't mind having some help for some things. Modeling things by myself for TE (Terran Epiphany) is no fun. :nervous:

That and I might need some help doing some more...non standard models for another project I'm helping out with

Just wondering: Do you only do models or textures/uv maps as well?

Mainly I'm doing models right now, though I do understand the basics of unwrapping and my texturing is done by hand-painting and procedural texturing, my skill at effeciently using the UV space needs much more practice - considering how these are models that are meant to go inside a game and require limits and file types and size. The transition from rendering to game based models has been an interesting one, and partly one reason I've delayed releasing some of my own work so I can clean up the innards and give'em a much needed reboot.

My first goal has been improving model flow, but you can bet yourself I'll be doing texturing soon, and I there's a lot of good texturing stuff on polycount (excellent forum inhabited by game artists) up for grabs. Lurking there for a while taught me quite a bit on how to save polies and a number of design choices that has changed my approach to game models.

Can you do something Shivan?

FringeSpace doesn't look very active, mostly cause I'm just not a social butterfly, but we do have a list
of items in our subsection that we need help modeling. We're more quiet behind the scenes folk.

Can you do something Shivan?

Existing or brand new? There's quite a few Shivan assets that look like they need to be redone, but FSU has a couple being completed, albeit slowly.
