Does anyone here run on a consistent basis?? in many succesful fields like business you find a direct correlation with a high percentage of runners and successful people, just curious if anyone in the community runs, and if so how much per week and per day...??
here ill go
I run 5-13 miles a day with 5 being on average and 13 is the long run i do every week, i have done this steady around 25 to 35 miles a week for about a year now...
-
o_O is this some kinda joke?
-
Are you also successful? And in what sense?
I don't run. I cycle and I play football (or soccer). Running...well, there's nowhere to run around here. I can get farther cycling.
-
you dont run Unidan??
-
This should be an OT, big time....
Since the crucifixion of Setekh, the land of HLP fell into darkness and was overrun by the Trolls and Spammers. Steak 5:7
-
i wasnt meaning to sound like HEY IM BIG SUCCESSFULL
but the fact that in high school (im college now) i was 232, no social skills, and poor and now i go to a prestigous private U, weigh 149, do freaken public relations with tristate businesses and made enough money in sales to "take it easy" for a while confirms that running and success go hand in hand...that is if you view that stuff as success...

Er, this is an OT forum, why bother?
And I understood what he was saying, wouldnt call it trolling/spamming...

Ehhh........ I think it has more to with a mindset change than the fact that you're running around.
-
I don't run and I think I do quite well in life, thank you.

Well, I'm in track and field - and I'm in the running events  I also bike and swim.
-
I like to run.
-
I dont run.. I bike (mountain), climb... stuff like that..
I do fine...
-
Okay
I do run occasionally around the neighborhood, take martial arts (Taekwondo, World Taekwondo Federation). I'm a black belt, going for second degree in a week.
-
Oooooo Something I like....this is a trick isn't it? :nervous:
Anyways I run on a regular basis, 1-3 miles for time 5-15 miles for distance, due to work I've had to cut it short a bit, but if it were up to me I'd be running 10 miles per day timed. I've been running consistently for maybe 6 years now and I've kept record of something like 6300 miles or something. You do feel a lot better when you keep active, least I do anyway. And Red what's your time for these runs after a year, and just how old are ya?
-
Headbanging while jamming on my guitar keeps me pretty fit. ;)
-
I walk fast enough to have others consider it to essentially be running (:D), but I don't like physical work at all and do not do it for the sake of exercise. (most of my day is spend sitting in the same chair :D) I actually feel much worse after running or doing any physical work, but I feel really, really good after some nice mental activity like solving math problems; good enough to do even more problems. :D

:wtf:
-
I propel my chair whit my feet to get to my fridge:p
I have the same whit CP but leave the math out:D
I don't like to run, i only run when needed like when there is a huge fire/explosion or a disaster. Since there arent any disasters/fires whatever witin 50 meters from my house i don't need to run:D
But i do like riding my bike, and sit on a terras in the sun whit a ice cold beer.:D
-
Lazy bums....the lot of ya.....get the hell outside
-
well I could say you are mentally lazy and give you a bunch of math problems to do. :D :D

Actually, I'm not mentally lazy. Let's put it this way, if you were to put the same amount of time into weightlifting that you put into math, your torso would be so big I don't think you'd be able to go to the bathroom by yourself. Your arms wouldn't reach that far. Between work, school (yea I know it's over) and here, I get enough mental stimulation, I think. You just need to get outside and reaquaint yourself with the sun :D

Don't believe what they all say:D there is no life outside HLP:D

No, leave the soft glow from you screen and come out to the bright stinging rays of sunshine, Ahhhh it burns!!

I put miles on my trackball every day, though occasionally I give it a break and use my mouse. And I walk to my car to go places. If I'm late, I run to it. And when I'm at work, I usually run to the Taco Bell across the street for my half-hour break. That's about it.

Heh, I have much better physical activities to do... ;7
But I enjoy cycling when I have the time (either at home at those... whatever you call it or with a real bike in the streets), and playing Golf (you may think it's not real exercise, but go do range practice for two hours straight... :D ).

I run if I have to... I don't usually run for sports, but you never know what one can get in mind
-
I ride to school everyday, over this annoyingly steepish big bridge. Still now that i,ve been doing it for a while its easy to get over. Not the mention i skateboard.

You're linking correlation and causality. That = BAD! :D
And has everyone noticed that apart from a select few, we all seem to be playing up the amount of exercise we do? :p
-
edit: err... forget it. :p
-
Don't hide the truth from me, Mister Styxx! You know you can't hide behind the truth forever! ;)
-
Mabye he can hide under it.
-
Interesting. I shall have to test this.
-
You shall have to test whether or not it is possible to hide under the truth instead of behind it? :wtf: :D
-
Its called humour, dig it.

Truth could be intolerably heavy? Or not hollow? Just hypothesizing ;):p
