hi guys
does somweone reviews about this game red faction Armageddon and screenshots
-
What I've heard is that (re)adopting a more linear gameplay style did Armageddon no favors. Guerilla was good but didn't leave me chomping at the bit for more, so I've personally not picked up Armageddon. Giant Bomb was less than impressed (http://www.giantbomb.com/red-faction-armageddon/61-25726/reviews/), though.

it's a good game becouse the story its good
ok
-
My copy's in the mail.
-
let me know how the drm is. i just re-installed rf:g like too days ago and it has worked intermittently at best, all thanks to the tumor known as gfwl. i dont think il be spending much money on single player games that dont let me save in offline mode. especially when there are so many other games coming out that i am somewhat interested in.
-
its nice game to play wacth this

how nice it is
-
it has a descent level in it... kotaku did an article/video.
-
i completed the first level of red faction armageddon
its a good same as duke nukom
ok
-
Considering the critical panning of the new Duke Nukem... I wouldn't view that as a compliment.
Guerrilla was fun, but I would have preferred them sticking with the open world.
-
this reminds me, i need to go back to 2 and guerilla that i got at the christmas steam sale. finished 1 and got about 15 minutes into 2.

2 is truly awful (or so I have heard), just go to the surprisingly decent but GFWL-infected Guerilla
-
Eh, if you like shooting stuff and blowing holes in walls, 2 is still worth playing. Just don't expect anything stupendous.
-
i wasn't expecting anything super. 1 wasn't either, but i feel the need to play through them before guerilla for the sake of continuity. and they were like $3 between the two of them.
-
There is no continuity between RF2 and RF:G, at least I don't remember any mention about RF2's characters or plot (ok, there were bones of someone named Shrike, but that's it) in Guerilla.
-
this game is really the story
red faction gorrila has no story only destorying things
-
If by story you mean a load of generic space aliens, then yeah sure it has a story.

Are you a bot made to promote this game or something?
-
it's more about knowing the universe for me than direct story continuity. unless the original is insanely outdated (doom 2 -> doom 3) or is only the same in name (far cry 2) i feel like i'm missing stuff if i don't play the first ones. its just a thing i have.

You get to drive a giant tarantula that makes everything explode.
-
I personally would just enjoy playing the level that is very much Descent based. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emBQRoviLp0 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emBQRoviLp0) if only :v: would make a whole game....

thats not what i wanna zee
sorry still playing

RF:A was one of the few games I ever preordered. Long story short, it's worth a playthrough, especially if you were a fan of Infamous, Resistance 2, Red Faction, or Descent. The campaign is somewhat short (even running on 24 hours of no sleep, I managed to blow through it in about six or seven hours), but it has some pretty fun moments and some cool references to Guerrilla.
The reason I mentioned those four games earlier is that RF:A seems to mix a lot of elements from those games; the superpowers from Infamous, Resistance 2's tone and atmosphere, Red Faction's universe, and some really cool Descent-style levels. I personally think it did all of them pretty well, but not exceptionally.
-
I just recently beat RF:A and thought it was pretty fun. I haven't played any of the other RF games, actually. Linear or not, you can think of hundreds of ways to kill aliens and destroy everything you see. If that's the sort of thing that entertains you, turn off your brain and let the annihilation commence!
I find the power creep of the weapons slightly amusing, though. Would I rather have a rifle that shoots bullets, or a rifle that shoots
exploding black holes?
Tough choice. Although it's not as if you need anything besides the magnet gun anyway.
-
I felt strange about the game because its art cover is blue.

Red planet = blue cover.
Cover art for Blue Planet (if it had cover art) = red. BRILLIANT!
I felt strange about the game because it hands me a magnet gun and expects me not to destroy every little destructible piece of scenery. If they didn't give you that repair tool, I never would have made it past the first stairway/bridge. :D
-
They give you the repair tool because they expect you to destroy everything.

Internal leaks from V suggest a lot of publisher pressure on this game really messed with the story. Development was unhappy, with a lot of confusion and uncertainty as to what the game wanted to be.
However, I really approve of the design regarding the magnet gun/nanoforge. Between this and Saint's Row 3, :v: is really stepping up as the most fun company in gaming.

Yeah, the main plotline felt sort of like an afterthought, or a flimsy justification for a bunch of people to tell you to perform fairly mundane and mostly unrelated missions. You can pretty much ignore the story and just hit tab to follow the waypoints between smashing the whole place up.
Dragon Age II sort of had that problem as well, but I still like both games.

The game is a really bad pun, a material defender said that on descentbb.net.

Dammit Batman, links. I demand links, sir.
