Title: A couple of things
Post by: Kosh on June 09, 2011, 06:42:13 am
So after reformatting my system I load up FS2, dl 3.6.12 along with 3.6.12 mediavps. Then I proceed to go through with my bi-annual replaying of Derelict. Of course it was astonishingly beutiful, just as much as I remember. But there were a couple things, and I'm not sure if they were bugs or just version incompatibilities. The first one was that on more than one occation, a capital ship would try and use its heavy anti-warship beams as anti-fighter beams. Granted seeing a bomber whacked with a VSlash is kind of cool, but it isn't suposed to happen. It was very rare, but it did happen, seemingly at random times.

As for the other thing a picture speaks a thousand words:

Retail AI behavior allows turrets with huge flagged beams to target bombs, which is what you more than likely saw. If it hit a bomber, that was a coincidence.

What am I supposed to see out of place in that picture?

I can see it, two ships appear to have merged together????

Misaligned docking?

The container is docked the wrong way on the Triton. Looks like more of a fredding issue with the original mission than anything else to me.

When that freighter tries to dock instead of going around instead it goes right through it, eventually it will come out the other side, turn around and dock properly. Of all the times I played Derelict I never saw that happen before. Shouldn't it be bumping the container instead of passing through it?

When docking, the two ships involved in the docking cannot collide. However, they should still be docking the right side.

sure thats not a pathing issue? perhaps the dockpoint is assigned the wrong path, or has no path.

I've actually been playing the SCP update version recently with a friend and I confirm the issue. I also noted a weird pathing issue where, in the first mission taking place in subspace, the Isis trying to dock with the medical frigate goes a good 10k away before closing to dock.

Sorry for lack of names, will get them if required.

The medical frigate Meridian gets disabled early in that mish. That isis has been sent by the Zods from Altair to repair it.
