I can run the original FS2 in fullscreen, but I can't with Open. I can run it in fullscreen window, but if I run it in my monitor's native resolution in order to fill up the screen, it lags. Everything seems to be working fine in fullscreen original FS2 and windowed FS2Open, but not fullscreen open.
I've attached the debug log after running FS2Open in fullscreen window, but I don't know how much that will help. I'm running Windows XP with a Intel Core 2 Duo and the Intel Integrated Graphics Chipset. Crappy, I know, but I don't normally have problems with fullscreen.

I suppose that could be just an issue with the chipset. Basically, if fullscreen window mode works, use that.
By the way, you should delete both mv_advanced and mv_animglows from the Mediavps directory, with a chip that slow and memory-deprived, using them is not a good idea.
Also, you should definitely activate the glowmaps (-glow commandline option), you are missing out on a bit of graphical goodness that your card can support without issues.

Well, thanks for the advice on the MPV stuff. Integrated chipsets can do weird things sometimes, while sometimes they can run quite well when you wouldn't expect them to. Are there any other graphical features I'm missing out on that I could probably support?

Check out the graphical options in the Launcher. You should be able to use everything apart from -env (known crashes on some intel chips, as well as being a lot of work for the GPU) and -normal (Because your chipset doesn't support shader rendering).
