Title: Freezeup on The Wait

I've been unable to get past this mission for some time since it always freezes up at some point. The mission loads, I fly around in my Zeus, spitting ordnance and the picture freezes. I have to end the process to get everything back.

Those are the symptoms as for cause well it seems to always happen whenever a big Shivan ship reaches 0 hull. If I blow up an Asmodeus or Cain the explosion sounds halfway then the whole screen freezes. This is the only time it ever happens, but it isn't consistent at all. I can sometimes reach the third convoy no problems only to get a freeze when the Shivan cruiser goes down. Other times it stalls as soon as the first Asmodeus freighter goes down. One thing for sure is the freeze only ever happens for these two types of ship when they reach 0 hull, everything else works perfectly.

I was hoping to get to admire the new Hades and Typhon, this is such as drag. :(

That totally doesn't make sense. Well I skipped ahead and I'm now on The Last Hurrah, but when I leave after being suggested to do so by Alpha 2 I end up with a desertion reprimand, but can continue nevertheless. This stops the red alert from playing properly, meaning Gamma wing isn't aound to talk to the Soyokaze and I have to fly a Valk instead of my beloved Apollo. Should I post a log for The Last Hurrah?

You shouldn't be using a debug build for normal playing.  Assertions only trip on debug builds; they are ignored on release builds.

Anyway, that assert shouldn't even be there in the first place.  I've committed a fix.

As for The Last Hurrah, you're the second person to mention that same problem in the past week, whereas nobody else experienced it in the past three years.  I'm guessing this is a new SCP bug with the red-alert code.

I'll try reverting to 3.6.12 just to see if that makes a difference. Thanks for the reply Goob.

Update: Reverting did indeed help the red alert problem.

Sure, I'll have to read the tut first but I'll put it up there.

Okay I mantised it, put in as much detail as I thought necessary and ran it through debug build. Sorry if I missed something. :)
