Title: I Just got Lightwave 7.0...........
Post by: deep_eyes on May 18, 2002, 01:07:53 am
Being as how I upgraded my crappy software (mind you i hacked it to work) freespace 2 platform on this crappy k6-2, I gots me a good ol PCI TNT2 nVidia card. So now I can live and do my freespace gaming!

Now heres my questions, being as how i got 500+ ram now and the greater videocard, this is regards to Lightwave (the modeler prgram for the masters hehehe)

-Turorials: where do i find any?
-can anyone offer help online?
-how do i do what?
-anything i  complete how do i transfer into FS2?

i do have 3dstudio max (the latest) but i dunno how to use the darn thing and i need more memory for it............

would aprecieate the feedback!;7

To help you get started, I followed some tutorials from within here (http://www.ap3d.com/), mostly because they have a lot of space-oriented stuff, and picked up the basics plus some from here (http://www.3dlinks.com/tutorials_lightwave.cfm). But I'm classed as a modelling n00b, only been doing it for several months on and off, so there's bound to be more resources and more helpful and knowledgable people lurking around.

Some don't know, and it's more about particles then the shuttle, the shuttle is just a extra.

When I want something blown up (like into a few pieces) I usually just clone the model, delete some vertices and add some particles and glows and stuff.

Almost the same way here.
i kept it simple, i just let the shuttle disolve on the moment of the blast. but i i cut the models into half and let them tumble around when exploding.
