Title: question about exp effects

i have already recreated the effect itself, the problem I'm having is freespace's effect blending. black is invisible and darker colors are rendered in varying degrees of transparency. how do i get around that so i can pull off the effect in the video?

if you give the effect an alpha channel it will do what you want it to.
