In celebration of Episode II (and out of boredom) I used my mediocre modeling abilities to completely redesign my bounty hunter ship posted some threads back. The new vessel is based lossely upon another not-so-well known Star Wars vessel from Star Wars: Starfighter. The ship is far sleeker than my previous design, and much more balenced. Featuring twin-barreled laser turrets (fully rotational), dual gatling cannons, bomb/mine dispensors along the undersides of the wings, and two proton torpedo launchers, it is still a threat to other vessels, even quite possibly overshadowing the legendary Slave 1 in firepower. Without futher delay, my new private vessel, the Intimidation:

Those lasers on the bottom make it look like a Battle Droid skimmer

Funky! The chain guns look a little out of place on that thing (perhaps some sleek, pointy energy weapons?) but it still kicks ass.
Needs a nice mirrored Naboo fleet paint job now ;)

Textures would be good, but alas, nothing I'm capable of. :(

Intimidation; now with a horribly bland color scheme!

 Good God, that's ugly. Absolutely hideous. A cacophony for the eyes.

You don't wanna know what I think it looks like. Just accept that it makes a good ship, that we don't see enough organic modeling around here, and don't ask questions.

I like the mesh, it reminds me abit from a mission from HW i think it was that mission where you are in the Garden of Kadesh.

I like it, but I don't. The shoulders are entirely too over the top, which is why I don't like it. However, its got a very vertical aspect, which is something entirely ignored by most ship designers. :) Not bad. Animate it. :D

 As I said, it's horribly bland.
As for the shoulder bit...I do agree they are a we bit too large/bulky, though they are really used to contain bombs and mines launched through the rounded "pods" underneath. I do like the vertical aspect, and indeed, it's almost never used (with the exception of a few SW ships, including Slave 1). Animating it...hrm...I do have 3DS MAX 4, though I'll be damned if I can figure out how to use it (Venom will kill me for that :D). Rhino seems to be the only program I can use, and even then...well...*points at model* I'm sure not up to par with any of the other modeling regulars around here. Of course, if anyone's willing to texture/animate the model for me, I'd be more than happy to supply it, though by the general concensus, it's not very well recieved around here.

Glad to see you got some use out of my tutorial... :)
Now, remember: pastel = bad colors for spaceships. :D

Ah, but my ship uses curves, not meshes. :D

Hah! Provide me a UV map and I'll give it shot.

Looks sorta like something the cloners(the aliens that did the cloning) in Ep2 would fly.

that looks like someones head.
And I thought SW ships didn't have gatling guns.

Oddly enough, that isn't the first time I've heard that...
And I thought SW ships didn't have gatling guns.
It's a laser gatling gun. :D Seriously though, gatling guns are indeed unheard of in the SW universe, but I thought they had a place with this model. On another serious note, if anyone here can think of any ways to improve my model, give your suggestions. Bear in mind that this vessel is top-of-the-line, and is actually a light transport (a wee bit larger than Slave1) rather than a fighter.
