Er.. anyway... Arent there already a few FS mods for HW? Why not just join up with one of those?

Yes there are a few (2) however none of them are FULL conversions of Homeworld, and what i intend is to complete the mod that i have permission to use. so it's not to create a new one, but to work on improving 1 of the existing ones(of course the mod that i have permission to work on).

It's already been done, but I got permission to re-make it...
Unfortunately, I've been having a lot of RL probs lately, grade-wise, so I've had to put it on hold....

EDIT:Wait a minute, are you workign on SVG? That's what I'm working on...

If so, best of luck - I'm responsible for the textures on some of the ships in that mod (most notably the Faustus) but there's a lot of balancing to be done before it'll be a really good mod. Right now it's got the ships in place but overall it's a bit crummy.

Anyways if you want some advice on it gimme a shout - It's about time we had a decent conversion of FS to HW... I suggest you take this to the Freespace Modding or Hard Light forums though since this is a campaigns personal forum ;)

Yea, that one... I was aware of the balancing issues, and I might have been able to fix that (I'm only really good at putting ships in with the default weapons, my VME is really screwed up...) but what I was also thinking were a couple more Freespace-themed missions, like a skirmish map, but it has a briefing when you select it, and an objective as well, like capture enemy capital ship, would be to capture a NTF Argo...?

Thunder's right, SVG is a bit on the crummt side at the moment, or at least last time I checked, the Colossus emerging from the belly of a arcadia just isn't right. And also, the Orion is back to front.

About the graphics-can anyone say direct conversion, no poly reduction?

BTW, I've already figured out some ways to get it right. For instance, the fact that a single corvette (or Herc Mark II) can take down a Deimos is ludicrous, I intend to make it that the cap ships are properly huge compared to fighters, and it's almost impossible for any more than a wing of fighters to take down a cap ship. Plus, I have a dre--whoops, wrong thing!:D Anyways, I want to get it so that grouping your fighters into small squads is encouraged, and so is actual tactics, not just build some more units, then attack, then do it again;)

Ya know, I think this whole conersion should be made into HW:C


the Collosus and crud could be built outside the MS and whatnot... would look better if it could be done.

But i know nothing about modding HW or HW:C, so I'm probably just dreaming.

Cata is a lot (and I mean A LOT!) harder to MOD than HW.
Besides, someone else is already doing it for cata.;)

Even Alpha One can`t take down a corvette single handed in a herc unless he's got trebs. :D
