Been sort of tossing this idea around in my head for a while, but is it even technically possible
to have a MMO esque or similar style "hub lobby" for players to connect in - as a part of FSO?
Don't mis-understand, I'm not nearly nuts enough to be making that a request, I'm just interested
in the potential of it. If something like one is even possible within the constraints of scripting and what
else we have here. Opening discussion on the idea.
I suppose my main inspiration besides old clan starbases and fiction, was how Trenched did their hub-

I was interested in the ability to have your friends and their mechs show up as they joined you. There's quite a bit
of other features hidden there, but essentially it's a stand in for what we'd use as the mutliplayer lobby.
What I was thinking of, is more along the lines of a hanger/control room, similar to the FS2 menu environment, where your ship
and a basic character would arrive. then you could launch to a mission, etc...
So before the torches and pitchforks are brought out, thoughts?

Yes, I don't see it as being nearly as... entertaining for single. Unless you scripted some events where
you had to have a recorded conversation with a SP character, then that would give you a mission or
some such to move a plot along. Essentially a live player briefing. I guess that would be a stripped
down, low rez version of Mass Effect then... -__-

Edit the campaign file in notepad, so you can link multiple missions back to one hub mission.

That's the basic idea, making it work and act like it should took Batutta a lot of time.
