Title: FS Modding Tutorial Gone OTT
Post by: Fozzy on May 22, 2002, 01:52:07 pm
As some of you already know i am making a tutorial on how to use Truespace but this original truespace plan has somehow gone over the top. It is now is a full blown project to make a tutorial, that even the dimmest sparks amongst us can follow.

Not only will it be a turorial of unparaleled magnatude and simplisity you can personlise it due to javascript prompts that ask you for your name and then insert it into the tutorial.

I.E. "now <(your name here) click on the big red X, this will ... bla...bla...bla"

There will be tutorials on most of the freespace tools avalable including a guide to make full use of PCS.

This can only be accomplished if I have help, I especialy need people who have an indepth understanding of HTML and CSS as these play a major part in its asstetic apearence. If you wish to help post here what program or topic you are willing to make a tutorial on. I will make one tutorial as a template and then post it here. You must use this as a guide because then the users will not feal alienated or lost when skipping from tutorial to tutorial.

Tempery URL to the tutorial:

Hey, IceFire i am glad you can be a part of this project. :D

IDEAS: Maybe you could write a tutorial on how to sucessfully manage campaigns and resources. I know that many people make campaigns but not many are as sucessful as you, with 5 campaigns on your sig alone. You dont have to do this its just an idea, pick anything you are good at. :)

This goes for everyone else willing to take part, only do tutorials on whatever your good at, the project will be made up of many small tutorials. Because in my experence people dont want to go all the way through 20+ pages just to know how to do somthing like make thruster plumes.

I am working on the template.

Hmm, I'm working on a quick guide to the max ui. That is i'm not going into any greater deatail about functions and submenus and stuff. Just the stuff I use fairly often. To keep decent load times I do one thing per page (well so far..).

Perhaps I should do some just do some model tut instead.

I wasn't really volunteering (I was saying that I might be able to do the FS modding :D) but yeah, I might be convinced to write something.
