please anyone know how to make weapons effects and such with truespace 4???? alli know how to do is to puta  background in and use to see if i have teh texturing donw right  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/frown.gif) help please

I haven't actually tried any renders nyself, but I think most iof the weapon fire, etc is put on in 'post-production' with Paintshops Pro or similar.

I'm pretty sure you can add engine glows in TS, though.

theres two ways to make what you want, the first way is to make a plain with what you want textured on it, translucent reflectince with ambiant turned up, and a filter transparency, this is good for backgronds and engine glows and weapon effects. but doesn't always look A1-SUPAR,
the second way is to use a post procesing fillter to add lensflare to a light, this way looks great but the glows are plastered over the entire sceen, so if you have a ship fly in front of one of these glows it will be visable thrugh the ship.

Lens flare glows should be invisible if something is in front of the lights. At least that's what I noticed when I made the "First Contact" renders.
