Hi guys. I need you opinion about a certain game called Star Trek Armada. Is it a good game? How would you rated it? What are the bad points of it?
Because I'm thinking of buying it to play. I know its an old game.
-
Its a crap game simply, 2d, poor graphics. A cheap cash in.
-
And I never could get the sound to work correctly. If you see it for $5 or so, it's a cheap diversion, but otherwise don't buy it. You may look into Armada 2, it is supposed to fix a lot of the bugs in the first game, but I don't know how well that succeeded.
-
Try the demo, the best way to investigate this game. The full version is more of the same.
-
Is the Armada 2 game out yet?
-
Yep.
-
2D? Zeronet, you're blind...
I have both of em. Its a good game, its just buggy as hell...
Second one is better.

I just downloaded and watched the trailer for it. Looks good and exciting!!! To the people who have it, is it ver hard to play?

If you are talking about Armada II, i've played it. Although the graphics are great, there is way too much micromanagement in it. It is more like busy work. And the game doesn't seem much star-trekky. The single player is kinda dull if you ask me...

Its easier than Homeworld, harder than Starcraft if that tells you anything...
Though not much harder than Starcraft..

I've never played Homeworld but I have played Homeworld Catalysm. I kind of liked the fact that you are fighting in a 3D space environment. There is up and down, left and right. It creates a lot of possibilities for attack and defense.
Starcraft wasn't that hard. Except the Protoss campaigns where I couldn't build Protoss Carriers and Protoss Arbiters. Other than that, it was a piece of cake.:)
So, how does the game play like? I mean, can you build your whole fleet consisting of only Soverign-class ships? Is there a limit to how many ships you can have in any mission?
-
You have Officers (nodes for the Borg, Pilots for 8472), each ship/station requires a specific number of officers. The Soverign requires the most.. 12.. and yes, you can have a fleet of one type of ship. Thats how you win :p
There isnt much strategy to the game, build a huge fleet, and hope its bigger than your enemy's fleet...
