Title: Eurovision song contest
Post by: Stunaep on May 25, 2002, 02:33:08 pm
the hell, that its not over yet, what do people (c'mon, we've got that many europeans in here, right) think of the show. I'm not really the one to comment, since Estonia is the host, and I just happen to be estonian. :p . Its cool IMHO so far, and I like so far the russian song best. It's somewhat different. :p

Eh... this is one of those moments I feel ashamed to be Finnish. That song sucked big time.

The video about Finland was pretty cool though ;7

Israel is a member of EBU (European Broadcasting Union), location doesn't matter here.

yeah, and the singer, Laura, was it, looked a lot more cooler on the pics than on stage. On stage she looked just like another finnish girl. we get those by the dozens every week. :D

My god this year's show really bites the dirt. This is absolutely horrible! But still Greece has to be the worst I've seen yet. It was like some sort of horrible homagé to 80's alternative music! :shaking: The only reason I watch it is becasue I watch it via BBC Prime and listen to Terry Wogans funny commentary!

heh-heh. I'm watching it in turns from ETV (Estonian TeleVision), YLE 1 (finnish TV) and BBC. . So cool to hear all the stuff people say about us (f.e. when the finnish commentators said that the song Matvere/Peebo (hosts) sung was written by A.L. Webber (actually by an estonian Raimond Valgre)).

[edit] what language does the people of Malta (sp?) speak? French?

Ok, I predict that:
1. Germany and Turkey will give each other either 10 or 12 points.
2. Estonia will give high points to both Russia and Finland.

Aaaw, hell screw it... Everyone knows how theses things go, its pure politics!

This was a lousy competition. The latvian song sucked, only good thing was the girl(though it sucked considerably less than most of the others). Also, it was pretty stupid how those neighbours(Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia) all gave a lot of points to each other.

Wasn't it supposed to be the music that mattered?

Post by: an0n on May 25, 2002, 04:46:04 pm
Well, Terry Wogan did his best to mock the political side of it but sadly his sarcastic and slightly snide remarks will never change the fact that it's the European Suck-Up Contest.
