Title: LRO gives best images so far of Lunar Landing Site
Post by: Flipside on September 06, 2011, 09:48:52 pm

No doubt the comspiracy theorists are already thinking fervently of excuses to disclaim them, but nonetheless, for the rest of us, some really nice shots of the Apollo 17 landing site, resolved to the degree where you can actually see the path one astronaut walked to deply a science package :)

Oh, I'd recognize these photos anywhere.  They're the photos of my pock-marked left-buttock that NASA commissioned me to take to keep the myth of the lunar landing alive.

Conspiracy theorists would have no problem asserting that the pics are just CGI creations. Seriously, shots like those could be easily replicated in a program as simple as Photoshop or GIMP. Just saying.

You know, sometimes I despair for humanity :p

I know most people here are 'just saying', but it's always an interesting insight into human nature that when something bad happens, it must be Government collusion, when something good happens, it must be a Government con...

Looks an awful lot like it was shopped, and I've seen quite a few shops in my time.
I'm not being serious.

Hehe :p

Of course, in order for it to be shopped, it would have to rely on one completely unproven fact:

That NASA gives a flying **** what the conspiracy theorists think one way or the other ;)

I think the time Buzz Aldrin punched the reporter in the face for having the nerve to imply that he never risked his life in the space program was probably the greatest thing I've ever seen.

You people aren't even ready for the most shocking truth of all; the moon landing was faked.. on the moon itself (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6MOnehCOUw)!

you got it all wrong, the moon landing was filmed on mars. they just used black and white cameras so it looked grey instead of red, then painted the negatives to add splotches of color. we have secretly had warp drive since the civil war.

Guys, guys, guys....  :nono:

It's incredibly obvious that there is no moon.  What you see up there is actually a FAKE, built by NASA, who of course then FAKED landing on it.  This was all a smokescreen to hide the OBVIOUS fact that at its heart it actually a fully armed and operational battle station.  You see, I know the truth here, and the truth is that NASA's ultimate plan is to use that battle station to blow up the Earth.  You're probably wondering WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS?  Well what the government LIARS won't tell you is that NASA is secretly funded by this one guy with a secret agenda.  This guy lives on Mars.  All his life he wants to look at Venus, but, alas, the Earth is in the way.  So bless his little astronomer heart, he's gonna blow us up so he can make his observations.  From what I've figured out by looking at Ancient Alien relics, he's gonna execute his plan near the end of 2012.  THE END IS NIGH!

I AM SUPER, DUPER SERIAL ABOUT THIS GUISE

That theory can't be right; it doesn't include Xenu or the Lizard men, and the absence of Nibiru makes it seem even less serious.

oh please, there is a moon, but its got a cloaking device. and the battle station was meant to blow up the real moon, in order to raise the price of cheese. as for the guy living on mars, thats mecha-lincoln. he faked his death so that he could stop the confederates in exile. he didnt like that the confederacy built the slave labor camp on the real moon to mine cheese, and then made it disapear with giant magnets. youre just buying into the confederate propaganda. and the reason they faked the moon landing is so that the russians wouldn't find out that the civil war never ended. it was a plot into tricking them into thinking they lost the superpower penis measuring contest. and so long as they think their national penis is small they will never be a threat to us. nasa has it all backwards though, they should come out about the moon so we can go invade it so everyone can has cheezeburger (though that may be a plot of the hyperintelegent gleeseian felines).

as for zenu and the lizzard man, **** that, they are just small time gangsters looking to get in on the cheese profits. seriously, grow up.

I seem to recall seeing a novel series on TVTropes that actually did this.

his real mission was to infiltrate mecha-general-lee's dreadnaught in orbit around the cheese moon

Nitpicky correction time!  That wasn't actually a reporter, though there were several with him at the time.  No, it was Bart Sibrel, a very vocal Moon Hoaxer.  That doesn't make Buzz and his deed any less awesome, though.

Ah, my mistake, then. Either way, the guy absolutely deserved to get rocked.  :D

I thought the Moon was secretly a massive alien robot used to subjugate all of the DNA-based lifeforms on Earth, with the real Moon hidden in another dimension.

It makes me happy to get that reference.

It was an episode from this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancient_Aliens). The history channel has fallen to an all time low.

Well if you're interested I think youtube still has most of them online. I think the episode that had the death star moon thing was titled "the mission".

I watched all of them with a friend in sort of an MST3K style, its so full of circular inane gibberish there's plenty to make fun of. We even had a running bet as to which episode was more stupid, unfortunately the one he chose had the death star moon in it so I had to concede defeat.

Thanks, I'll see if I can look them up on the 'tube...I enjoy researching paranormal theories for the imaginative and creative stimulation they provide. Plus they're a whole lot more entertaining (and effective) than most modern thriller/horror movies anyway.  ;7

i liked cable back when channels decided to specialize, as such that you could lock out shows you didnt want to see or even know about by simply not turning on certain channels. there were a lot of good shows on back then. nowadays all the channels are competing over how many crap shows they can air and the american cable/satellite customer is too stupid to turn off their tv when nothing is on and report it to the ratings people. i mean i fill out neilson rathings just to make a statement about how little tv i watch, because frankly thats the only way you can really convince the networks of how ****ty their programming is. its sad that my favorite chanels right now are amc, tcm, and pbs. 10 years ago i wouldnt have been caught dead watching these channels.

Yeah, nowadays it seems like a lot of television channels are programming for the lowest common denominator. I used to watch substantially more TV when I was younger, but then I discovered the internet.  :p
