I got one question about playing the game. If you are fighting one on one with any enemy ship, how the hell do you keep yoru ship alive? I mean in terms of maneauvers and shields and stufff? Any hints?

Boost your Shields and Engines, Weapons too if necessary (F5).
Keep on his six and use Quantum torpedoes if you have em.
Target his warp core for a quicker kill, his weapons if you want to keep damage down, and if you know you're going to die, ram the sonofa***** (unless you're playing multi, people tend to kick you from the game for doing that).

Increase you energy to shields, engines and weapons...
Steer yourself of course
Try to keep your charged shields to the enemy
target their weapons-systems and destroy the first
Do not waste torpedoes by firing them at very long range

Something else.. If you can cloak DON'T.
Your shields drop the instant you do, leaving you wide open, and giving the enemy ample time to disable or destroy a subsystem or weapon before you dissapear completely. If he hits your cloak you're really in for it, cause you'll immediately decloak, leaving your shields down for even longer..

Thanks for the tips, guys!
How do you divert shield energy to a particular shield quadrant? Let's say I have a death wish and want to go head to head with the enemy and want all shield power to the front shields, how do I do that?

I don't think you can

Great. And I was thinking of doing a head to head with a Romulan ship...

Yeah, try to avoid those disruptors....
They make nice big holes...
