Title: hi everyone, and a question
Post by: runes on May 26, 2002, 01:04:08 pm: been a while since i've been around these parts. all campaigns have virtual come to a standstill, but i just have a little question, i can't remember the name of the campaign featuring the (Gargana?) and a bunch of other ships, huge Shivan destroyers that were like 20km long, could anyone provide a link?

and it's good to see some familiar faces, from back in the FS1 days on the VBB

With distance being 12,5km, and it doesn't fit the whole screen, it has to be huge. And those beam turrets are huge, too (one of them being targeted)...

What beams are those? Just normal BFReds or bigger? :)

Those are SBFreds I think they're twice the size of the BFRed...

And my closest server is somewhere between 1 and 10 miles. It's in my town. Somewhere. :p

But seriously, I tried 15km wide beam on Colossus, and it was big. :p

But about what could wield, well, a Death Star? :)

Post by: CP5670 on May 31, 2002, 02:59:55 pm: I once tried making a beam tham was 100km in diameter (12.5x Colossus length) but the game was not able to render it too well and it looked a little bit weird. :D (too blurry considering its size :p)

The old Gigas had it. It could take out a whole fleet of destroyers in one shot :D
