Title: Need 3d exploration help
Post by: TheCelestialOne on May 26, 2002, 01:34:38 pm
When I try to view a model it shows only the model but not the textures....... It used to work but for some reason it doesn't anymore... :(

Make sure that the textures are in the same folder as the models.

They are... But they just won't render.

Your trial period for 3d ex has expired if the little "registery reminder" pops up when you try to do high quality renders. I think that also makes it so it does not render textures when you view your model.

Is it 3DE or DE?
Is it happening with all models or just ones that you've converted?

Even if you have the textures in the same folder as the model, 3de will not apply them if the filenames don't match.
If the filenames do match, then maybe the uv mapping got lost somewhere during the conversion process.

What do you mean by matching the filenames?

The filenames of the textures must match the referenced textures on the model file.  Best way to do this is

 - select the model
 - RC on it and select "Object Properties"
 - LC the "Materials" tab and double check the texture names
